2 Using the system: For live shiurim: Dial the number Upon the call being answered press * (star) On choosing a shiur you will hear the instruction "You are about to listen to the shiur of Rav...", "To stop listening press 0 (zero)" You may press any key to skip this introduction (Please note: live shiurim can also be accessed through the archive section as they are being recorded) For recorded shiurim: The fastest and most direct way of getting to your shiur is to dial the Kol Haloshon number and as soon as the call is answered, key in the numbers for your required language, section(s) and shiur in quick succession.

Where there are more than nine options in a section the system will typically expect two key presses for a choice in that section. Therefore, always press 0 before any selection that is less than ten (e.g. 06). Similarly when selecting a specific shiur, the system expects three key presses. For a shiur number of 9 or less always add two zeros (e.g. 006) or from add one zero (e.g. 035). Fast dial example: to get to Horav Osher Weiss's shiur on "The Ovois kept the Torah before it was given" Occasionally while listening to a shiur, the shiur may pause as if you have pressed 5, to continue, press any key on your phone keypad. Sometimes a shiur may get stuck with the same few words looping continually. Press 3 to break out of this loop.

4 Please note: if the section contains less than ten shiurim, the system respond immediately to the first digit pressed. However, if there are more than ten shiurim, the system will wait momentarily for a second digit to be pressed before proceeding to process the selection. Similarly, if there are more than 99 shiurim the system will wait a moment longer to see if a third digit is pressed. Many section of shiurim are subdivided to enable easier access. For example, by masechta, by parashah, by year, etc. Within each of these the rules pertaining to multiple digits equally applies. Call disconnection: If you are unexpectedly disconnected from a shiur, simply dial back in and press the hash key (#). This will reconnect you to the last shiur you were listening to at the point at which you were disconnected. Listener participation: Certain shiurim are set up so that during the live broadcast, listeners are able to ask questions. For these types of shiurim detailed instruction are provided at the beginning. Questions can be asked by a listener by pressing Star (*) during the shiur. This opens the line for one minute. There is no limit to the number of participants on such a call nor the number of times a listener can ask. If the question is short, it is advisable to close the line after the question by pressing Star (*) again so as to mute unwanted background noise The Kol Haloshon system is growing all the time and lines are added to meet this demand. However, at times of high usage it is possible for the entire system to be busy in which case you will receive a busy tone.
